World Cup 2010 Fever
I don't know about you, but I've got World Cup fever. Of course, it's been quite distracting from doing work on my dissertation proposal; BUT, what an exciting first stage it was - with plenty of surprises! All the teams I have been rooting for have advanced to the 2nd round where the knockout begins, and boy have I been glued to the TV! Which teams? South Korea, Chile, and the U.S.A. Today begins the knockout, and South Korea plays Uruguay (currently trailing 0-1, but there's a whole 2nd half left!); U.S. plays Ghana later on this afternoon. Hopefully both will advance, although it will be quite a dilemma if they both advance and meet at the next round! Still, thrilling football (or soccer as they call it here in the U.S.)! Are you watching? You should! ;)
